It's just no good if someone isn't really into it. If that someone is you, it'll be easier on the other people too if they just let you go do what you want to do.

I think a lot of people (and I'm not immune) sometimes forget the PLAY part of "cosplay". It's supposed to be something the cosplayer is enjoying. Some people just want to resemble a favorite character. Some people want to LARP with friends. Some people like a challenge and enjoy making really elaborate impressive stuff, even if it kind of hurts to wear. Some people will enjoy it for an hour or so then be like "okay we got a couple pics, street clothes time." Etc. etc. etc.
Thus not everyone who cosplays is going to cosplay the same way, and that's okay. Just as long as everyone's aware of their friends' limitations and preferences and doesn't make it unenjoyable for other people.
(Also includes bystanders. No more "in-character" Deadpools being obnoxious to everyone who crosses their path, please.)
