Re: What tropes in a show/movie/game legitimately make you drop it?

I have to say everyone has hit on alot of what I legitimately loath but then I remembered one I haven't seen listed.

Any show/film that has a suspect of a crime being treated as subhuman. That it justifies any brutality done to them because they are either repeat criminals or 'obviously guilty' and need to confess. It also really grinds me more when the evidence is barely there and the person of interest's life is basically ruined by the bully tactics used to 'soften' them. Usually followed up by the plot-twist that it wasn't them but someone else... suddenly its 'no hard feelings bro'.

Which also leads into the whole loose cannon of a police officer/agent who just has to follow their gut - screw the rules because they know better and won't rest until they've proven themselves right (in the name of justice of course).

That describes the majority of Law&Order SVU episodes. It's the reason I stopped watching it.

I hate that too... mostly because it's a little too damn real. Humans suck.

I feel like I've stopped watching all police shows because of this. Like, B99 might sneak back in eventually but everything else is just toast.
