She would never be told it's Not Okay because romantic dramas think it's not only okay but very Sweet and Romantic to do extreme things for the one you love, even extreme things that are extremely creepy.

Yeah, this is one of the unfortunate things about Cdramas that I don't like. Miya isn't even an extreme example of this because unlike a lot of "scheming female villain" characters, she's not a murderous psycho bitch. She's actually pretty cool for most of the show, until this happens. It's some bizarre lapse of sanity that people treat as slightly regrettable, but not abnormal when it's extremely abnormal and fucked up.
