I edited people's fics both for spelling and grammar and also to format them to publishable sizes (trade hardcover, trade paperback, etc.) I seriously wanted to make a publishing company for my fandom's fanfiction. 12 years later and I still want to do this. You should ask your favorite writers (or just put it out there) if they need a beta for their stories, that way you get to read and correct it before it even gets out to the public!
