133 OP

I actually have seen most of these, and will admit that I was exaggerating/overgeneralizing in the secret (I'm ridiculously paranoid of being tl;dr in my secrets, so always end up erring on the super short side)--but on a whole, I stand by what I said.

I will say that both Cowboy Bebop and Gunslinger Girl are excellent (I'd lump the second half of Kenshin, FMA, and Wolf's Rain into the not-much-redeeming-value category though, sorry. Difference of opinion though, I suppose).

What the hell, then. Why don't you just retract it and admit that you were wrong to assume that an entire medium is incapable of having emotional depth just because the popular stuff is throwaway? It's like saying that no movie can have emotional depth and pointing to Paul Blart: Mall Cop as your evidence.

I stand by my statement because the vast majority do fit the little-to-no-emotional-depth bracket. A few gems/passably decent series don't change that.

You know, I'd argue that's true of most mediums. With the amount of backpedaling you're doing, you could argue that liking anything means you're immature and lacking in emotional depth.

Honestly, just give it up. If you want to be prejudiced, fine, but at least come out and admit what you're doing instead of trying to argue that the majority of it lacks emotional depth, as if comics, TV, movies and books, and western animation don't as well.

Of course I'm prejudiced--that's what the entire secret was about! My character judgements are somewhat negative towards anime fans, whether you think that's justifiable or not. I wouldn't call it a bad thing--everyone holds personal prejudices; it's how one functions in interpersonal relationships.

The vast majority of movies, TV shows, books and whatever is pure crap.
