112. Hear hear. :/

119. Oh hey now, that would be pretty hot. I can see it. "Well my father this," and then Harvey would shut him DOWN. :D

122. I think I got 100 pages. But it was not an easy feat.

123. I can't believe you're that person either. God. (Haha, kidding, IAWTC.)

130. Hahaha, awww.

132. He's got pretty sweet hair, and I'd have to say - he's workin' the stache.

146. That's an... interesting thing to say. And you're probably going to get swamped with "OMG TROLL" comments, but... well, what you're saying does make some sense. However, I think people are quite capable of stringing fancy words together if they don't care for human rights. Weren't Hitler's speeches really inspiring?

151. I've had my goggles on and I haven't gone "HOMG THE GHEY" yet.

157. Getting a sock account isn't cowardly, it's self preservation. If you want to write fic, you should write fic!! Just know that it is possible for your parents to find you anyway if you're not like... and internet ninja. :/

168. *shrug* Not thinking the movie looks good doesn't make one elitist. Bitching about how people who like the movie are 'lesser fans' would be.

There's a massive difference between making speeches and crafting compelling, realistic characters. I think you can be a good writer of some things - like speeches, particularly hateful ones - without respecting the humanity of [x], but I really don't think you can be a good writer of fiction about/involving LGBT characters if you consider them so Other as to not be worthy of the same rights you have.

Ah, I do agree. That's probably what the OP was talking about, but the term "writer" sounded broad to me, I guess.

(I don't even understand how people can write slash fiction without being for gay rights, but maybe that's just me. Ugh.)

I don't get it, either. The only theory I've been able to come up with is it all comes down to objectification - homosexuality separated from actual homosexuals in a way that someone can be turned on by homosexual acts without connecting them at all to homosexual people. I think the WNGWJLEO trope in general comes dangerously close to crossing a line in that regard; I'm sure there are plenty of sketchy fics within the trope that do cross the line.

But I'd be interested to talk to someone who actually likes slash without supporting gay rights to hear reasoning that isn't just my biased assumption. AFAIK, though, I don't know anyone like that - and I'm not sure that's a conversation I could start without sounding accusatory.
