Now I am genuinely wondering why. I'm VERY picking in writing style, but his I can actually stand.

You're picky for what you like. Doesn't mean OP needs to like it, or that it's "bad" writing.

I can't read Dickens; I don't like his style. I'm not going to claim that's a reason others should not/cannot do so without a question as to their standards or taste.

They were just wondering what OP hates about his writing. Nobody implied that OP was attacking people who like Stephen King.

There's really no reason to be defensive, nobody's being attacked or criticized for their taste in books.

I'd like to know too! I also agree with the anon that said they hate his endings though.
