Oh, extra points to you for the passive agressive "Honey".

And yes, fandom is a vast space. And I said "fluctuating", meaning I'm constantly meeting new people. And I said that, in addition to photos, "I've been to several fandom gatherings and conventions". I've seen, met and interacted with thousands of fandom people over the years.

You are intentionally reading my comment to pick out only the points that fit your argument and ignoring everything else that doesn't. I proceed with my assessment that you want to be angry and offended.

'Filled with' implies a great number, and I think that's arguable.

It does, and (Obviously not an actual statistic, just an example, but I feel the need, with you, to clarify it as such.) even 25-30% of a "vast place" is a great number of people.

If you had written that 20% to 30% of fandom are feminists and lesbians who don't shave, I would have had no qualm. But your wording was too general and insulting. That's all.

You did not make the connection that "Fandom in general is filled with" could easily mean a significant amount of a group that you admit to knowing is "vast", even at mere 25-30%. This is your own failing, and not something for you to indignantly shout at me about.

You stereotyped people in an insulting way, and now you're trying to pretend your comment was some sort of academic, intelligent response. Yeah, that did piss me off. Quite a lot actually.

You're still wrong, and your responses are quite tacky. I did not stereotype people, as you yourself admit that if you'd properly read the comment and the proper usage and intention of my wording, you "would have had no qualm".

It's interesting to note that I never used any offensive terminology, and yet the respondants seem to have no problem throwing around the "fat" and "dyke", etc, and cursing at me. My comment, and the following ones, was worded kindly, and yes, intelligently. Academic is going too far, but truly, I've brought the only eloquence to this exchange.

And the fact that you have such an icon is more proof that enjoy and are fully prepared for an opportunity to be indignant.

I have nothing more to say to someone who is so bullheaded in their desire to be offended. Good day to you.
