I use it to stand in for “one or more of the warnings might sort of apply, but it’s complicated.”

Like when there’s a little non-con/dub-con in my story but it doesn’t seem like enough to warrant the warning. Like, a character is a rape survivor, and this is mentioned but not dwelt on. Or there’s dub-con of the “we fucked while drunk, but everyone was fine about it the next day” variety. Or, for the underage warning, if a thirteen year old gets an erection but there’s no sex per se.

I usually use appropriate tags and explain in the author’s note.

I wouldn't even consider, "we fucked while drunk, we had a great time, and neither one of us regretted it" to be dub-con at all. I had whole relationships based on that, lol.

Me either, but my impression is that some people do, so I have sometimes mentioned it in my author's notes.

Some people believe it’s always at least dub-con because you can’t technically consent while drunk. They don’t really consider how it’s more complicated and varied than that irl, mostly based on the people and their relationships.

I wrote a "we fucked while drunk" story and was whined at because I didn't label it dubcon, so now I do that.

It's a kink for me in a way, but I didn't think of it as triggery. I do get why it can be for other people, though.
