I’ve consulted the AO3 policy in the past and I still find that there are vague borderline cases (or ones where there isn’t a canon age but they could be underage), and I’ve come across people who clearly don’t know where AO3 draws the line because they haven’t read the terms, which makes the policy not a consensus in any realm even if it would be fair enough to treat it as one. If I have to consider for longer than I want to whether it would apply for a significant number of people, I just choose not to warn.
