I think it is funny, that people are expected to do it automatically, even if the situation might not warrant that kind of sacrifice. Yes she didn't know them that well but defying Azula could have brought on just as much trouble and still have hurt her brother in the long run. And from the looks of that scene, she didn't have a reason to think that her brother was in immediate danger.

Hahahha uhm. I think I'm being sarcastic about people in fandom who think that the only way you can be a "good guy" is by throwing yourself in front of a bus?

I also think eating kittens is funny, just so we're clear.

It's ironic, because when I talk about Avatar I usually summarize it as, "The show in which everyone saves everyone else and there is lots of hugging."

To be fair, I'm one of those people that isn't good with sarcasm, at least when it's typed. I need the voice inflections. Otherwise I tend to take things at face-value. (Also it's the internet, and nothing surprises me on here anymore.)
