103. THANK YOU!

See this, and not other shipping (because I don't care if my ships conflict) or anything else, is why I have so much difficulty with the Zuko/Mai thing. Because in Season 3, she's presented as being a real, three-dimensional person, with thoughts and feelings that, while buried, are present. I can't reconcile that with this girl who doesn't care if her baby brother lives or dies at the beginning. Season Two Mai is apathatic and flat, and that was funny. But...it just doesn't gel.

117. Awesomesauce. Coming from a hugely Catholic community (happy Mardi Gras, btw). I keep forgetting that Hellboy's Catholic, but I remember feeling strangely vindicated in the movie, seeing his rosary and the importance of that to him (granted, I try to be a good Christian, but I'm a lousy Catholic). Though my top fictional Catholic will always be Father Mulcahy. We should all be more like him.

123. Mm...superior? No. Because there is no superior medium. For some stories, comics are the appropriate vehicle, just as for some, books are, and for others, a movie is the best choice.
While I enjoy movies made of his work a great deal, I think that for the impact and storytelling, a comic is always the best medium for an Alan Moore story, because he adds a depth that needs words and visual to convey all the seperate stories.

But with a statement that blatant, you're probably just trying to be wanky.

131. That is one of the most awesomesauce things I've ever seen, and I totally want one, and yes, it absolutely makes you a little bit cooler than everyone around you. Where did you get it?

136. I totally thought that was the case when I saw it as a child, but watching it again recently, I realised that no, they really had amazing chemistry, I liked Phoebus a lot, and Quasi was sweet, but like a kid brother.

149. I was crushed. It just never feels fair--I would've given a lot to've seen him as the Hatter, and played with him and his wackiness.

162. Okay, I love Eddie, he's my favourite Batman villian, and one thing I absolutely love about him is that he just annoys the snot out of anyone who has to spend time with him, so I really have to know the how and why? I don't care if it's convoluted. Please?

I got it at Hot Topic about a year ago, but they're insanely hard to find now. :C

I really can't help but feel that her apathy towards her brother was supposed to contrast and make her smirk in regards to the mention of Zuko more apparent in a comical way...except that her actions horrified me as a big sister.

What could she have done? She could have tried to steal back her brother after Azula called off the deal--Azula probably would have found her more efficient if she had stolen her brother back forcefully from the enemy without submitting to a negotiation!

Are we talking about the same Azula? The one who actively tried to kill Ty Lee not fifteen minutes before the Tom-Tom Xanatos Gambit?

Yes--you really think Azula wouldn't value someone who not only goes with what you plan, but is also skilled enough to get what they want because they don't need to negotiate with the enemy for it?

Because that's second-in-command material right there, if Azula ever felt she needed one.

103. Because no one ever grows as a person during their teens. No one.

Ever.

Nope, we're all exactly the same people we were at fifteen, no matter what we experience or who we interact with.

We're all just a bunch of static log-bumps.

Right. I'll go with that.

It's not a matter of being grown up, it's a matter of being a person. Mature or immature, older siblings who are even remotely capable of forming an emotional attatchment later on tend to at least give a flying crap about whether or not their younger siblings live or die, especially if it's their "best friend" putting said sibling in a potentially fatal position.

There's no explanation, or at least, not a good enough one, for her being that flat over something like that, but still capable of liking Zuko (not even talking about later). It just doesn't follow.
