Considering the title means ‘ruckus’, or basically chaos, you’re probably relatively okay just rolling with it without knowing too much. This show is proudly bonkers.

Basically, put prohibition-era organised crime, a bored demon, a cabal of cannibalistic immortal alchemists, the recipe for their elixir of immortality, a couple of rogue serial killers, and two absolutely genius idiots of a pair of thieves into the same space, have the show be in anachronistic order showing the events of three years (1930, 1931, 1932) happening all at once, and stir well.

Following the individual plots between the different time frames is probably the trickiest bit, but in terms of what characters are doing, mostly people will a) be trying to get the elixir, b) trying to kill/avoid being killed by other immortals, c) trying to kill/avoid being killed by other mobsters, d) trying to advance their family’s goals, e) trying to survive in the general vicinity of the above, or f) be Isaac and Miria and whatever the hell is going on in their heads at any given moment. If anything.

(I’m going to be honest, I was almost entirely watching for the 1931/train arc, which works well self-contained once you allow for the new and old immortals running around from the other arcs)

Jacuzzi Splot is awesome, though, definitely. As is Chane, and Nice. Claire and Ladd on the psychotic end. Isaac and Miria on the bonkers end. There’s a lot of really fun characters in this show!
