I'm so tired of Bake-Off contestants who have a story about their beloved grandmother, or aunt, or childhood friend, or second cousin, or primary school teacher for every recipe they make

Just bake something good and interesting, enough with the dramatics

Surprise surprise, a lot of amateur bakers learned something from somewhere else!

And that's great but at this point, it often comes across as a calculated attempt to win the sympathy of the judges
