The initial success of Attack On Titan, alongside the general incompetence and/or ill will of the author both in writing and drawing, reinforces my belief in a general philosophy I have regarding making art: "Every artist needs someone to tell them 'stop'."

That doesn't go for everything though. I believe Arakawa both wrote and drew Fullmetal alchemist, and she stuck the landing just fine.

See it's the last part that does it. She didn't use a huge Nazi conspiracy for the basis of one of her races, and instead heartily condemns Nazis every chance she gets.
