What are your favorite movie/tv deaths?

When the zombie buried himself back in his own grave ala Deathdream (1974). That whole movie is underrated.

Say what you will about The Predator (2018), but the mutual mercy killing between Coley and Baxley after they got fatally injured by the Predator has stuck in the back of my mind.

1. Boromir
2. Gandalf
3. Joyce Summers
4. Mufasa
5. Darth Vader/Anakin
6. Theoden
7. Everyone on Rogue One
8. Naroon on Babylon 5
9. Marcus on Babylon 5
10. Luke in The Last Jedi
11. Obi-Wan
12. Spock
13. River Song
14. Tic on Lovecraft Country
15. Kane on Alien

Other ones I like are Black Widow's death in Endgame, everyone's deaths in Infinity War, Ellie on Up, for all my issues with the Hobbit movies Thorin's death was well done, Wicker Man death (the original only), Angel's death in season 2 of Buffy was great although he was brought back, Lucy Knight and Mark Greene on ER, Denny's death on Grey's was really well done, Haley's death on Criminal Minds worked for me as did Gideon's off-screen death, every death in Event Horizon, and Marian Crane in Psycho.

And then there are all the awesome book deaths that haven't been filmed yet but that are written perfectly.

Spock would be my number one pick from your list, though Gandalf, Boromir, and Darth Vader are strong contenders too. I would add Yoda as well.

Ooo, yes, Yoda's death scene is great too.

Optimus Prime in the very first animated Transformers movie.

Will Gardner's death on The Good Wife was shocking and sad and changed the complexion of the show.

Shelby's death in Steel Magnolias was heartrending.

Hans Gruber's death in Die Hard was very satisfying (Karl's was too).

Derek Reese in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Hell, add Riley, Jesse, and Charlie to that list as well, they all make my top ten. IMO T:SCC did character death better than any other show I've watched.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Paul Reubens in the Buffy movie. Best death scene ever.
