I spent yesterday passed out on the couch until sunset because it was so hot. It's as bad today, but I had errands to run... except I couldn't, because my transit pass suddenly doesn't work, which I found out when I went to catch a bus. I scraped together enough change for one way fare out and back, but also couldn't load my card for a day pass. So instead of going to get groceries at Costco and art supplies

Continued because I hit post in the midst of ranting...

art supplies for work, I just went to the plant nursery and bought more plants it's too hot to put in the ground. I sent an email to my work's transit agency liaison guys and got a boilerplate email that a) they've known this was a problem since Friday and b) all transit operators know to let us ride free until they fix it. There was no announcement on our website, or email, or any notice this was a thing. The only way to find out it wasn't my personal fuckup was to send a complaint email. Grr.

None of the bus drivers I spoke to had heard anything about this. The phone number we were given to report issues with drivers goes to an office that's closed weekends and doesn't open until after most of us have to be at work M-F, and closes before we do as well.

If I'd run all my errands today I would've needed $30 in change.

Plus my cat is miserable and entirely covered in scabs from flea allergies, one of the neighborhood wandering cats I've been feeding because his owner died of COVID has a nasty infected bite wound and he's too skittish for me to clean it out, and because I couldn't run all my errands I'll be missing some supplies for work tomorrow.
