Stratovarius. Hang on, I'm totally a newbie, the only Stratovarius I am familiar with is "Hunting High and Low" and "Kiss of Judas", I like Timo Kotipelto's voice. (I hope I spelled that right! ^^;) (And I have heard a few of his solo songs while listening to last.fm) I don't know much about them, so I wouldn't know that kinda stuff. >.<
Ew... I hate those kinda bands, usually the music is utter rubbish. :( If I'm thinking of the right thing.

Yes, Stratovarius is the band Kotipelto used to sing in, they were the biggest and the brightest and the most awesome way back in the late nineties. Tolkki was their composer/guitarist. The band broke up years ago, got back together, fought amongst themselves, it was a huge and long-lasting drama where Tolkki made an arse of himself and hurt a lot of people in the process.
[Bands like Private Line or Lovex..] I don't like them either. I like metal because it's so honest, the musicians like their own stuff, they make music that they'd want to listen to, the songwriters put their thoughts and feelings into the songs. Like Tony Kakko who writes most of Sonata Arctica's songs, is sometimes so transparent, you can see how some songs are intensely personal to him, even if you can't understand what the lyrics are really about.

Yep. The clips I saw on youtube were very 90s. :( I should youtube Kotipelto though soon.
I'm the same way, I like honesty too. Oh, I know. Tony Kakko is awesome.... Totally agree with what you said.
