No Nancy, Jonathan, Eleven, Mike, or Will?

So basically that leaves, what. Joyce, Dustin, Steve, Robin, Lucas and Max just having Scooby Doo adventures? .... OK actually now that I think about it, it sounds amazing. You're a genius, OP.

Haha, thanks. I don't actually care about Hopper either, especially if the show is going to do the whole Joyce/Hopper thing they were hinting at in season 3.

Plus, Hopper died at the end of 3, and obviously that's the end of it and there's no way they'd ever bring back an apparently dead character, so we can safely assume he wouldn't be in this version of the show

Hopper didn't die, he's alive in a Russian gulag.

I really hope they just decide he died; I do not like Hopper *at all*.

(Anonymous) 2021-10-08 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't mind him at first but man he just got progressively worse as the seasons went on, so good riddance.

(Anonymous) 2021-10-08 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
Yup, same. I thought he was a great character in S1, and likeable enough, albeit flawed of course. Then he was a bit awful in S2 but in a way that was ultimately understandable under the very specific and extreme circumstances. But then in S3 he was awful in a totally bullshit way and there wasn't really any excuses for it, it was just plain old toxic masculinity on all fronts. Ugh.

(Anonymous) 2021-10-08 01:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Freaking agree. Like it's possible for characters to be both flawed and sympathetic of course, but S3 just had Hopper's worts traits completely take over to an extent where he was SUCH a complete asshole that I was soon rooting for that hitman to kill him so that I wouldn't have to suffer his screentime any longer. Also the way S3 did the """"""sexual tension""""" between him and Joyce was DEEPLY uncomfortable; I *think* they were aiming for like "romantic bickering" or whatever, but really it just came across as disrespectful and toxic as hell, NOT a good relationship, please stop interacting for the sake of everyone's well-being.

I can't believe that you would suggest that the show would tell us a character died and then bring them back to life!!!!

+1 this sounds phenomenal

Apparently they're already planning spin-offs and someone on Twitter had the idea (since the spin-offs will probably have to be set in the 90s anyway) of just doing Steve And Robin Do X-Files

and I cannot express how much I want to watch that show

(Anonymous) 2021-10-08 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
OMG, I would totally watch Steve and Robin do X-Files!

I would honestly just watch Steve and Robin being platonic life partners without any paranormal shit but YES!! YES!!!! god Dustin too tho???

(Anonymous) 2021-10-08 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
Without Eleven, I think Mike would improve immensely. And if they stopped using Will as a wooby punching bag, I would like him more.

Yeah, Nancy and Jonathan did their job of bringing Steve into the story and they should gracefully have bowed out like two seasons ago.

(Anonymous) 2021-10-08 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
Yeeeeees to all that. I'm just tired of teenybopper angst and romance and I do not care. I'd also like to see Will being more than just a helpless victim. Steve and Robin > Jonathan and Nancy.

I'm down for this.

(Anonymous) 2021-10-08 05:40 am (UTC)(link)
Though if Will wasn't kidnapped or possessed or connected to anything, I think he would be okay.

And if Hopper could stay in Russia or come back as the character he was in the first season and not the aggressive, possessive, belligerent, arrogant ass I found him to be in season 3, that would be fine, too.

And maybe Alexei and Bob could be friendly ghosts trying to help them against whatever big bad Upside Down thing is going on with that house.

(Anonymous) 2021-10-08 08:33 am (UTC)(link)
it could've become a cult classic if they stuck to only having season 1

(Anonymous) 2021-10-09 12:48 pm (UTC)(link)
i feel bad agreeing regarding nancy (nancy was one of my favorites in season one, jonathan can kick rocks and fuck off) but honestly she's contributed nothing to the story since the first season. i'd want her back if they let her do something again.
