I don't pretend to have any insight into the situation, but I wonder how you (and if) you do, to base your "fact" upon. Because I haven't seen Ryan deny anything. And while miscommunications happen all the time, if it was as simple as misreading a text, it seems likely that it would have been resolved. Also, you lose credibility hugely for using the word ho.

Why do I lose credibility for saying what I think of her? I've always thought she was awful, and even though Ryan's hurting, it's good that he's finally out of that crap relationship.

I heard it from a friend who knows Ryan. And I know you probably think my friend lied, but I trust her while I'm usually skeptical. And that's all I can say without betraying their trust.

I know how hard it can be to infer tone and intent from an LJ comment, so I hope this doesn't come across as hostile. I'm not trying to start a fight. But this is what I meant:

In a lot of discussions about the real lives of bandmembers (or actors, or whatever), there is a LOT of bashing of the significant others. Much of it is phrased in terms of "ho," "bitch," "tramp," etc., and there is usually very little information or logic to support the hatred, other than "she doesn't deserve him." The use of these terms about these people DOES damage your credibility in my eyes, even if you are fully justified in your opinions, because it lumps you in with those rabid bashers. Since I don't know you, I have no way of knowing you aren't one of those people.

I don't know Keltie at all. She could be horrible. But I see one of those terms applied, and it makes me much more likely to disregard anything said about her.

Again, I'm not trying to start anything, I'm trying to explain why I said you lost credibility in your comment, since you asked.

I don't know your friend to have an opinion about his/her truthfulness, but I still like Panic. I still like Ryan, whether he cheated or it was a painful misunderstanding. I think breakups suck all around, no matter what the cause.
