Because being accused of racism is the worst thing in the world, far more harmful than any perceived or intended racism could ever be?

Let's keep some perspective, there.

for people who don't think themselves racist and work actively in their real lives not to be, yeah, it can be a bad thing. no one likes to be accused of something they have no real defense against.

after all, people really do like to be accused of misogony, racism, pedophilia, bestiality, homophobia and having their names, even fannish ones, dragged through the mire just because they happen to disagree that all the meta maybe isn't that important to their enjoyment of the fandom or the source material.

but please, continue to be a jerk. it's cool with me.

I understand. Your fee-fees are the most important thing in this situation. It would be terrible if anyone harmed them by talking about real-world context, or justice and fairness, or anything like that. I mean, absolutely anyone can switch off racism the moment they step inside fandom, ta da, right? Forgive me for personally offending you by suggesting that racism is somehow worse than people saying mean things to you on the internet.

The only one letting meta spoil your enjoyment is you. I wish my canon were not as racist as it is, but I don't believe that makes me or any other fanrat racist; it just means that we have to enjoy it without believing it's perfect.
