Hahahahaha. I have it somewhere on my computer, but I've never seen it and never actually knew what it was about.

There is a LOT more to it than that and though that issue is there it's amidst several others - it's no where near the most important I think. The reason it's actually called Rent isn't just because of that but also because of, how shall I put it, another way the word can be used.


It's a good movie.

Well, it's more complicated than not wanting to pay their rent

One of their friends buys their building and tells them they can live rent-free. After a year he reneges (sp?) on the promise and demands they pay him back rent for the year they were living there otherwise he'll evict them.
