144) Well you've discovered what every rare-pair shipper has known -- How popular your fic is has a lot more to do with what you write than how you write. And people have different tastes in pairings. I LOL that you actually think yours is inherently better though. That's some ego there.

lol this! I'd add that those who read fic =/= the entire fandom. Hell, wherever this fic was posted =/= all fic readers either. I love the particular pairing this secret is directed toward, but I rarely read fic anymore. But oops I guess I have horrible taste because people I don't know on a place I don't visit thought it was good!

...Huh? I thought the secret made it fairly clear that I know full well that the Mylar fic I wrote sucked ass - which was the entire point. I never claimed it was better than anyone else's.

You hate Mylar and you think the people who like it have no taste because one of them liked your effort enough to nominate it for some el-jay award.

You know, I don't know what is more face/palm worthy: the fact that wrote a fic for a pairing you loathe to prove the blindingly obvious point that all pairings aren't equally popular. Or that you actually came to the conclusion that the reason why you got more comments for your quicker written fic than your "better" written fic had to do with your readers inability to tell "what is good" and not because you finally wrote about something they actually enjoyed reading.

Dude. I write rarepairs -- it's common knowlege that most people don't care how well written your fic is, if it's not about the characters and situations they enjoy, people aren't going to read it. Once you write on a subject they like, then they will judge whether or not you have any talent writing.
