Thank you. I was worried I would get a torrent of abuse hurtled at me there. Because apparently, having a negative opinion of that movie is a Bad Thing

I watched it this weekend and hated it. I was bored and found it unsettling and repetetive.

I watched it with the kids from my preschool when we brought them to the cinema for a treat. They love the cinema, but even some of them got bored and fell asleep in the middle of it.

God forbid that all of us shouldn't share the same opinion on something, right? It's a shame with these things... once something has reached the status of either "good" or "bad" among the many (or "the cool kids") a different opinion? Not so valued most times. Anyway, I thought the movie had some cute moments right at the beginning and it was nicely animated and stuff but, yeah, that was pretty much it for me. Was rather disappointed, actually.

More importantly and irrelevant: I love your icon. Boys in hoodies are the créme de la créme of boyish cuteness/hotness. Plus, it's Bradley and Colin. In hoodies. That's just an all around win!

It's the same with Twilight. I'm sorry if you're a Twilight fan, but I am emphatically not. All it took was a few people to like it, and it snowballs from there. And then people get insulting, and rude, and goddamned fucking INSANE in their defence of it. It's extreemly irritating.

And on that other note, Bradly and Colin FTW! They are so incredibly dorky and awesome and so in love!

And did I mention Teh Pretty?

Not a Twilight fan, no. Not gonna knock it, though, 'cause I haven't read it (= no properly informed or fairly based opinion). I tried to do the audiobook thing with it but got annoyed before the first chapter was even over. So I gave it up... I plan to read it during the next month or so. The properly informed opinion? I want it. But yeah, it's the defensiveness that sucks. It's the same with most hugely popular things whether good or bad. Harry Potter, Orlando Bloom or whatever... anything with a fandom basically. It works both ways, though. It's extremely irritating when someone keeps bashing something someone else likes just for the sake of it too. It's mostly a matter of taste which is not something which can be dictated. However, I do prefer when people can tell the difference between "quality" and personal taste. Like, I love Merlin and I love Supernatural but... perfect they are not.

I gave up on the book only a few chapters in. My sister, to my eternal shame, LOVES the series. And she's 28 *head in hands in despair*

Good on you for being properly informed before forming an opinion. If only all people were like that. There would be a lot less wank around.

I agree with you on you other point about liking something despite its flaws. Like you, I love Merlin and Supernatural. I alos love Torchwood. And Admittedly, the acting isn't always the best, or the CGI, but they're my shows, and I love them. I'm not blind to their faults. I like them despite it. My best friend wont even entertain the idea of watching TW or Doctor Who cos the CGI isnt the best, but she really needs to see past that.

And focus on the pretty, lol.
