I love both Spike eras and ship him with Dru, Angel/Angelus, and Buffy. But I do think his time with Dru was the best part of his story and that she and he had some special chemistry. I loved that he was a complex villain who totally loved Dru and was totally cool with taking his cues from her.

I feel that way about Criminal Minds. The last few seasons weren't as good, and I didn't much like the very last season at all. And yet, I miss the show. I'm happy it is (probably) coming back.

With Supernatural I couldn't make it past season 7, and on rewatches I only do seasons 1-5.

But I totally get being so attached to a show that you feel its loss even if it had stopped being particularly good.

Even get that feeling when I stop watching a show because of how bad it got, but it was an important thing for me for years. I still miss Grey's Anatomy even though I haven't watched in about 4 seasons.

From what I've read, isn't that kind of the point of her character? Also, isn't most of their circumstances beyond their control? Like, yeah, they had some impact, but they all got dealt a shitty hand by capitalism.

I think Casino Royale is probably more faithful to the original Fleming books than the median Bond flick is. And Craig's Bond is definitely one of the closest to the Fleming original - his face is a little too rough-hewn, so I would say Dalton is probably the most faithful overall, but he really nails the character otherwise.

I don't know if I can agree about Vesper being Bond's equal, though. And I don't think I could ever consider Casino Royale the best Bond movie, because I will never be able to forgive them for using fucking Texas hold 'em instead of baccarat. What a shitshow.

Absolutely agree with this. When I found out Dru wasn't coming back to the show and Spike was, I was so disappointed.
