Look, I am not a slash fan (as in I don't fan slash because it is slash and I don't go looking to slash anything), but all I can think about this secret is "CRY MOAR", no one is obligated to read or review your fic. You write something that is less popular you need to just accept that your fic won't have as wide an audience. And who is to say if they do read it that they will like it.

Also plenty of fans like gen, but gen is a pretty broad category, some types of gen are more popular then others.

129. Ok, what are fandom feminists? People who discuss gender dynamics in shows, or discuss issues related to feminism and how that intersects with fandom? Like, the term "fandom lesbian", I don't quite understand what people mean when they say this.

I just took it to mean "feminists in fandom" or "fans who happen to be feminists".

I don't know, the term has sort of weird bent. I am guessing they mean feminists who discuss it in relation to fandom, but then again I see nothing wrong with that.

Absolutely this. The OP isn't making an awful lot of sense, really.

I thought it made sense. The OP is annoyed by other feminists in fandom. The feeling of being annoyed by others who share your basic ideology isn't uncommon, really.

Well, to be honest, I was mostly commenting on the term 'fandom feminist', because it seems to imply it's somehow different from being a regular feminist - like, what, we're only feminist within the confines of fandom? I somehow highly doubt is generally the case.

The term usually seems to be used to dismiss people's viewpoints as not "really" being feminist.

Which is exactly my problem with the secret.

I've a feeling you make them out of straw and then stick a Batgirl t-shirt on them.

Mmmhmmm, but I still think the term is nebulous.

And I do think there is a place to critique fandom and the fansources on a feminist level, which is mostly what I think of when I think of fandom feminist, since while some debates about female characters speak plainly about feminism, feminism isn't often invoked as often in those debates as people seem to think.
