114 - I'm with you. It sucks to see, well, things that suck, but you're right in saying that we aren't entitled to anything.
124 - I love genfic myself, but maybe some people think that if they wanted gen, they'd just watch the show (or what have you)?
129 - It's only the crazy obnoxious ones that are so annoying, and you'll find them outside of fandom too. I know where you're coming from, though.
134 - ~*Fandom*~ doesn't need to. But if that kind of thing floats your boat, go ahead, and I hope you find more people who that kind of thing too.
145 - Well, you know, the time travel bit is probably the problem here. Maybe the saved the world bit too.

(Anonymous) 2009-03-05 03:15 am (UTC)(link)You neeeeeever know. I don't think ANYBODY saw Dr. Who becoming a fandom full of squeeing teenagers. It was for the OLD nerds. The guys who showed up at SCA meetings in Vulcan ears. The guys who knew what the SCA was, for that matter.
...And I am so dating myself here, aren't I?

I don't think three episodes of Red Dwarf, starring an aging cast, will have to worry much. I'd love it if it sparks new interest in the show, but I don't think there's going to be an overabundance of shrilling fangirls here.
