See, I'd heard that all the Beatles love songs were really about their relationship—not in a slashy way, but that their friendship was emotionally heightened, so usually they were talking about some fight they had. You know, like how U2's "One" is really about the band. So yeah, they were never actually writing together, but they were writing for an audience of one: each other.
I do find it interesting, though, that those weddings were a week apart. Crazy!
