Just my own $0.02 here, but the reason I felt a bit like this a while back was because the idea the eeveryone should be treat equally regardless of sex or gender, while quoted frequently by pretty much all people claiming to be feminists, their attitudes and behaviour, and their treatment of some* shows that perhaps they either dont really believe in that goal anymore, or that they never understood it. It kinda made me think that feminism, on a large scale, was no-longer about that goal. That by common useage, the word feminism no longer meant 'the movment to secure equal rights for everyone regardless of their gender.' and now mean 'the movment used by many to claim superiority over the 'wrong sort of woman' and the right to tell her how to live her life'

I've since met some briliant feminists who've shown me the origional idea is still alive, but you cant really blame somone for only ever encountering people that support the 'new' ideal and deciding they dont want to be part of it.


*(my GF, for example who was accused to being "responcible, atleast to a small degree, for every rape" by a 'feminist'. How was she doing this? by being a fetish pin-up model. thats one of the worst comments she's gotten, but there're not the only one.)
