I'm finally getting adult braces (it was an expense my family couldn't afford as a kid, and now I'm fortunate enough to be working) and they just put my spacers in and omg I thought it was going to hurt hurt but it's just the kind of pain that I enjoy/feels good? and I don't know how to explain this other than an itch you're dying to scratch but can't (but it doesn't drive you crazy crazy, just mildly so)...does anyone know what I mean?!!!

Please also share any TMIs you want off your chest but have no people to share these feelings with :O

So fortunate you can enjoy that part of braces since for most people it's actual hell, do you have a high pain treshold?

On a similar vein, I enjoyed being gagged with the form fitting dough they used to take my teeth prints. It filled my whole mouth without choking me.

For some things I guess? Probably? I'm grateful it's not the wild pain people talk about -- I'm a bit concerned now for the expander, because it essentially is stretching/breaking up the roof if my mouth lol

Huh! The molding material I've been given never really filled my whole mouth. Interesting!

NAYRT--my orthodontist when I was a kid would let kids pick a flavor of quick set mouth cement

I did not enjoy the process and I was super glad my current dentist now has a fancy scanner thing that takes 3D scans of the whole inside of a mouth.

But speaking of tmi, it's this big round ended cylinder so even though I was grateful not to have a mouth full of sludge, it kind of felt like practicing fellatio.

I like plucking my eyebrows because each time I yank a hair out, it gives me a little itchy shiver that I really enjoy.

That's awesome that something which could've caused you suffering isn't causing you suffering! Congrats on your braces, anon!

I don't have much in the way of pleasure/pain tendencies, but I definitely have a thing where I can't use toothpicks ever, because if I do I will pick my all my teeth bloody and I will like it. :/

Good luck with the braces, hope the pain stays on this level and doesn't get worse!

I think I broke my second smallest toe. It's definitely swollen and bruised and still hurts, so at the very least it's sprained. Not much I can do though, considering small toes just kinda need to heal on their own...
