Is it possible that your former boss has already had multiple complaints filed with the bar and may be guilty of ethics violations? Because, seriously, do you have any idea how many complaints the bar receives just because a client is pissed off that they didn't win? It's a lot. The bar has to follow up on every report, but unless the complaint contains clear evidence that an ethical violation took place they're going to send the firm a letter outlining the official complaint and asking for a response and as long as the response is reasonable, the complaint is officially dismissed.

TL;DR: You're better off out of there before the whole place burns down, metaphorically. Or literally, if your boss is hiding mob ties or something.
