Yeah, was about to say this is actually one panel of the strip I don't find preachy and strawmannish, just true. Most people here on FS say all the exact shit the speech bubbles in this one are saying, every time there's a trans headcanon (or trans anything really) secret.

NAYRT

But oh my god, this!

Full body cringe at conflating trans headcanons and actual trans people. Like serious “I’m an ally because I write slash” vibes. Ew.

Are you saying people respond to trans headcanon secrets like that in general? Because nobody you’re replying to here was conflating anything like that.

AYRT was.

Meant anon THEY relpied to.

Where?

(Anonymous) 2021-10-26 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Still better than "It's offensive to write slash , because it promotes toxic masculinity. Just let men be close and emotional without being gay!". Which is pretty much the same argument that's always used for trans headcanons and fics.

Yup, that's been my impression too. Anytime someone suggests that a character might be trans, multiple people reply in the comments with a line much like one of the bubbles. It would be fine if they just said they interpret the character differently, they have the right to, but they always insist that it's unthinkable, or even downright offensive, to interpret pretty much any character as non-cis.

Exactly!
