My dad came in while we were watching that video and forbade us from EVER watching MTV again. (So we just had to be sneaky.)

XD That exact same thing happened to me and my brother, except it was my mom who came in during Madonna's "Like A Prayer". Also she called the cable company and had it removed from our lineup.

Then the lineup changed a couple years later so MTV was on a different channel, and they forgot to remove it especially for our household, so my bro and I watched Beavis and Butthead all night while the parents were asleep. :D

My dad absolutely freaked out when I was a teen I bought the Madonna CD Music, her cleanest CD. I only bought it because I'd heard her American Pie on the radio and wanted a copy of the song. He took the CD and threw it out. I'd honestly never heard of her before (really sheltered), but he didn't believe that and grounded me for a week for buying the CD.

I was a teen/young adult around the time MTV was new. I always took great pains to not have other people around me while watching it, because of the unpredictable nature of seeing new music videos, especially late at night.

I was the biggest fan of their late night animation lineup, especially Liquid Television. "Stick Figure Theater" in particular kicked a lot of butt.
