151. Aw, you know, for all the wank in fandom, there are some really nice people. You met some before, right? There's tons more out there, but they're never going to know you unless you put yourself out there. (Also, as for the 'doing it wrong' problem, lurk at the coms for a few day or so and pay attention to the format everyone is posting in. Read the com rules. It shouldn't be too tricky.)

I always really, really wanted to taste the cream that was in the mushroom dots, or find a GIANT pineapple gummy bear and eat for days.

(Myself, in my childhood: why didn't Augustus just use a dandelion cup? That's way more efficient then scooping with his hands!)

YES!!! Oh man, how I used to ponder those mushrooms. And those watermelon things - were they... giant gumballs? And the skittle trees!! (We should not be talking about this, I'm going to have weird dreams. xD)

God, I'm embarrassed about how much thought I'd put into this before this conversation. But when they say that everything is edible, it makes you wonder, doesn't it? The stairs? The bricks? The dirt? (Crushed-up oreos, no doubt.)

I remember descriptions in the book that didn't make it into either movie; conclusion: I obviously need to go re-read the book. And then the BFG and the witches.

The book is great. Even if you are no longer a wee child it's probably worth picking up for Dahl's sort of... surrealist humor. It's fun, edible writing. (The sequel I'm not quite as fond of, but tastes differ.)
