Ah, no, it's actually a m/m ship of Ichigo's. A less common one among the fandom, but one that has a decent amount of fanfic.

The weird thing is, the daughter stuff is very valid and important criticism, but that's not what they focus on at all. Instead, it's, again, abuse and abandonment and the such.

Your characterization is more accurate, and there are some really interesting things to explore characterization-wise for people who know his backstory, which will be adapted in the new anime. And it's not like these are fans who don't know about that.
