What is everyone doing this weekend?

I got strep throat from a co-worker so I'll be angrily taking antibiotics and trying to soothe my poor throat. So will be playing lots of Animal Crossing in bed as I rest.

I'm on vacation in Monterey, California, for the next couple of days! We just checked into our hotel and are about to hit the bar! Yay!!!

I hope you all have a ton of fun!

Tomorrow I have to meet with a client for several hours in the afternoon.

Other than that, I plan on relaxing and catching up on sleep. Probably listening to some music. Maybe watching some Simpsons Treehouse of Horror episodes.

What season are you on for the Simpsons? I've been watching them on and off as well.

I am only watching Treehouse of Horror episodes. I have a folder of all the ToH eps up to the most recent season.

Did you find a new job? Is it better than the last one?

Sadly, no. I'm doing contract work for the old firm to finish out some of the cases I was working on (mostly the ones in immigration court because I was the only one with that experience).

Ughhh. :( At least the new Animal Crossing content is there for you! I hope it is soothing and comforting along with the antibiotics. And maybe some kind of delicious tea?

I'm... likely to do much the same honestly, since my own health issues have been horrible for a couple weeks (didn't eat or drink at all today, slept for much of the afternoon), and my dad came over and blew the leaves off my lawn before I even got out of bed today, so I don't have that chore to do anymore. Animal Crossing and fic in bed (since I got unstuck on my WIP and have a craving to write something with my OTP as well). And Pokemon Go since Sunday is the (second) St. Louis Safari Zone for me.

There is a PoGo event this weekend?

How are you enjoying the new Animal Crossing stuff? I am still terrible at designing houses. Lol.

The PoGo event Sunday (and tomorrow) was supposed to be an in-person event last year. A friend and I bought tickets and reserved a hotel room in St. Louis because we'd never been there and why not? Then... covid. They had an online-only event the weekend it was supposed to take place, but they're now doing the in-person event. (I'm not so sure that's a great idea, so I wasn't even going to try.) People who bought tickets for the in-person event pre-covid are getting a (second) online version of the event if they don't want to make the trip, but I'm not sure how much it'll offer that I didn't get during the previous online event. Better odds for shinies regardless and 8-hour incense I believe, though.

New AC content... I don't think I would have bought the HHP expansion as a stand-alone game, since decorating isn't my main thing in AC, but it's a nice addition to the larger game, one more fun little thing to do each day if I want to. I designed a school last night just before the server maintenance and since I was running out of time I named it "Learny McTeachalot", hahaha. And holy crap I love the new glowing moss and vines and the DIYs using them. New camera's fun. Kapp'n has always been "my boy" as the kids say, and farming is fun. In the middle of rearranging house locations now so I can expand the "farmland" area. :D

I'm going to my best friend's house tomorrow!

I am going to see a movie (well actually a bunch of shorts, part of a LGBT film festival) at an actual theater this afternoon. I purchased the tickets I can't back out now! I haven't been to a theater since the pandemic started and even though I'm vaxxed and am pretty healthy I'm still a bit nervous.
