AYRT

My parents were pretty decent and definitely loving and progressive as much as they could have been, and I was still rebellious. I think rebellion is a perfectly normal and healthy teenage stage, because everyone needs to question authority. My rebellion took the form of things related to sex and drugs and petty crimes like shoplifting and minor vandalism.

DEATH THREATS? BOMB THREATS? That would never have occurred to me. What the FUCK!

exactly! teenagers do dumb things, it's part of being a teenager. they test boundaries and do things they know they're not supposed to because they're figuring out their identities and questioning authority, like you said. that's totally normal.

death threats and bomb threats cross the line from dumb teenage things into active malice, and i feel like that's indicative of something going very wrong on a basic parenting level.
