(Anonymous) 2021-11-16 08:02 am (UTC)(link)I was mostly referring to adaptations that are very much trying to be as faithful as possible. In particular, I was thinking about My Hero Academia when I decided to make this secret. As I’m one of the people who always reads the manga either before I see an anime adaptation I’m interested in, or binge all existing chapters after the first couple of episodes. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with being an “anime only” person(same goes for anyone else who sticks to adaptations over source material) as I’ve stated. But I’m weak, and could never be patient enough to wait.
But while I did have faithful adaptations in mind, those aren’t as common as loose adaptations, or even in name only adaptations, tend to be. Especially outside of anime. So in that case, I get where you’re coming from. And I’m no purist either, just impatient.

(Anonymous) 2021-11-15 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)Plus, things are different in movie or TV canon from the comics anyway.
It's not like the adaptations are faithful to every detail in the source material.
Certainly goes for things like Game of Thrones, too.

(Anonymous) 2021-11-16 08:17 am (UTC)(link)If the adaptation isn’t very faithful, which I’ve admitted to another anon is something I hadn’t really thought of while writing the secret(and I didn’t have a lot of room to add more words left anyways), then you’d be correct. But that’s not always the case.
