Fft. If anyone's an almost-dad to Peter, it's Happy. He's around more, AND he has a thing for his mother figure! Tony's more like...dad's cool best friend that encourages you to get into shenanigans.

The one I'm thinking of is somewhat more reasonable than that, since they were raised alongside each other, so Westermarck could have kicked in...if not for the actual problematic part of them being...discouraged from seeing each other as even equals. (I'm being a bit cagey on what it is, because it's a bit of a big spoiler for the game it's from (one of the Danganronpa series)...sorry. >_>)

I know exactly what ship you’re talking about from DR. And I agree with you completely that the power dynamic is way more of a reason than being raised together(but not as equals) for not being into the ship.

Lol, I love this take! I mean, it's true, and also, it would piss off the antis (many of whom are IronDad stans who have completely lost track of the fact that the super close, super loving, very parental relationship they envision Peter and Tony having is not actually canon).

No worries, I understand!

I think the bottom line is that the whole "basically incest" argument is almost always nonsense--even in scenarios where you can actually understand why the person feels that way. Usually what "it's basically incest," is actually saying is, "These two characters who know each other well have a substantial power imbalance that would make a sexual relationship between them very dubious IRL." But they don't say that, either because they don't want to actually think through their knee-jerk moralizing, or because they realize that the latter accusation is a lot more vulnerable to being deconstructed and neutralized.
