The way this person is arguing very much sounds like someone from a cult would argue so I wouldn't waste any more time on it, tbh. I see literally no difference between this whole thing and, for example, the belief in channeling and similar acts that occur in certain types of cults. These people would feel right at home in the Ramtha cult, for example.

AYRT Oh yeah, I know, and I am leaving it here. That's why I recommended the BITE model even though it's not likely to stick at this point. The thing is, with this type of reinforced belief, having someone from outside the "circle" patiently and gently argue against the belief (ie not "lol you're insane") can be helpful, or at the very least plant the seed of doubt that can eventually lead to recovery. I'm speaking from personal experience with these kinds of behaviors and situations here, so I do genuinely wish them the best. This kind of thing can get scary so fast.
