SAME. It's so irritating. You want me to believe that someone's parents chose a random name from another language that connects specifically to a mythology or meaning, and then they grew up to become the embodiment of the thing they were named after? Nah fam. That's a bad author choice all the way. JKR is egregious about this on multiple levels. I mean, shit, my favorite media is One Piece and even I roll my eyes sometimes at Oda's name puns. I give him a pass because he's got over 600 named characters, they can't all be as clever as Cavendish.

Like, if you did grow up to be the embodiment of your name, like your parents sincerely loved Ariadne as a name and you just so happened to become an unraveller of mazes, someone around you should definitely go "wait..." and it could be funny. But the sheer number of creators who reach for this device means it would only be funny one or twice and then it becomes unfunny...and painfully obvious.
