Re: Google Fi
(Anonymous) 2021-11-23 10:55 am (UTC)(link)Please make certain when you use your phone that it isn't next to reinforced concrete, which is hell itself for any kind of cell phone reception.
The metal grid used to make it will ACTIVELY INTERFERE with all kinds of bluetooth, wifi, and radio reception.
Re: Google Fi
Every other person in the building, including the clients with cheap, free phones given them by social services, have a signal. I'm just special.
I do know that some areas of the building are better than others.
I'm going to have to update my phone, which pisses me off, but not being able to contact my daughter or make any phone call (or get any!) while at work is annoying as fuck.
Thanks!

I did not, in fact, call my daughter, as I am not able to from work.
Which was a huge issue when she was having car trouble, and I could receive her texts but not send any.

Try the above link to see if you have decent cell phone coverage. It may help you compare apples with oranges, so to speak.
Re: Google Fi
Where I am in MO, cell tower 'line of sight' is compromised *a lot* by hills, valleys, bluffs and trees.
Though every single person at my work, including the clients with inexpensive phones given to them by some social service or another, ALL have fucking service.
Gods I hate T-mobile. I wonder if Credo would work at all....

And of course when I called them to see if they could troubleshoot, the FIRST THING out of the guy's mouth was 'update to this phone, only 500 bucks!!!'. Like - fuck you so hard.
NOT buying a phone from T-mobile, whatever I do. I'm looking at Google Pixel phones; unlocked ones are less than 300.
