Seconded like crazy and I have to ramble even if it's late.

I don't think NaruHina happenning is 100% sure. Not even 30%. Kishimoto doesn't like writing about love, he is already rushing with the story, so I certainly don't see him spending time with developing Naruto's and Hinata's relationship. But without development, they can't get together. To Naruto, Hinata is just a friend, a little bit weird but still nice girl whom he got to motivate. Just because Hinata confessed her feelings to Naruto doesn't mean they will get together. Based on that, well, let's see... Lee looks up to Naruto and feels motivated by him. He is a bit weird but nice. So, if Lee jumped in front of Naruto and told him he loved him it would mean Naruto and Lee have to get together? HELL NO.
As for the whole confession - yes, Hinata loves Naruto. That's what she told him. But what does he know about him? He sees his motivation, his great spirit and admires that. His pain and uncertainity? Not. I still believe Hinata sees Naruto as a kind of... hero, without knowing what's past the surface. She can very well be in love with that image, but I don't believe she is in love with Naruto himself. So I agree with you there.
To Naruto, it probably meant a lot to hear someone say "I love you" for probably the first time in his life, but that's not going to make him fall in love with Hinata all of a sudden.
All in all, he doesn't know her. She doesn't know him. For this pairing to become canon, it would need an awful lot of development, and I certainly don't see that happenning. The only way NaruHina can happen is if Kishimoto does a 'x years in the future' jump in the future where they are together, and you have to imagine the development all along the years by yourself. But if he does that, the pairing won't make more sense canon-wise. It'll be just stated, more out of nowhere than Asuma/Kurenai. And if that happens, I'll just "disregard" said canon.

Because I agree, KibaHina is an extremely cute and lovely pairing and I want it to happen, too! And I can show you countless hints of Kiba feeling something for Hinata (most of these being jealousy over Hinata's obsession with Naruto)

And by your same logic KibaHina would not happen since Hinata has never shown to have any romantic feelings for Kiba what-so-ever, she sees him as a friend. Do you see where this is going? It's subjective. Personally, I think NaruHina will happen, but you can't just say it won't happen, when KibaHina is the exact same thing.

I didn't say KibaHina will happen for sure, I wanted to say I hope. You are right that Hinata has never shown romantic feelings for Kiba and it's subjective to think which one of the non-responsive part of the two pairings would lean in further. But unlike NaruHina, KibaHina has the chance of happenning off screen in my opinion. When it comes to the main character, he can't give him a love interest without proper development, but when it comes to side characters, he can pair them up based on little hints only.
My main reason for NaruHina not happenning is that Kishimoto would need to spend time developing it, and I still don't see that. Maybe you do, or maybe you would be okay with it happenning without development, that's really up to you.

But if any of these pairings happen in a future jump, it's true that both of us can "disregard" it if we want to.
