159. My opinion on wanting more fic that isn't Merlin/Arthur is basically this: It'd be awesome to see more of other characters and pairings, but you know the only thing that's going to solve that? Write some. If all of us who wished there were more rarepairings did that, the fandom would be about a zillion times more diverse.

I never said I didn't write other pairings.

I didn't mean to suggest that you didn't. Apologies for phrasing it in a way that made it come across like that. This is directed at pretty much everyone, including myself.

LOL, it's cool. I get what you mean, and it's not like I've written much lately (since everything I've got ideas for is epic-length...), but I'd like to just see more for other characters 'cause Arthur/Merlin basically dominates. (though, I'm craving Gen now (and that might give me away to you...) so sometimes I don't even read other pairings 'cause I'm not in the mood for romance).

LOL now I know who you are! (I THINK but no worries, I won't out you.) It is a tricky business, but the only solution I've been able to think of - and I think about this way too much - is to just barrage the fandom with other pairings/characters fic. Maybe it will set off like... a dominoes effect or something. I hope.

I hope so, too because, as much as I like writing, it's not the same to write something you want to read as it is to actually find it written by someone else and read it...

Agreed. I like to support more niche ships, but I also don't like to tell people what to write. The best way to get more of what you want is to support the authors who DO write it with comments and recs, and then write more yourself.

I have the same problem as the anon though. All of the fics I write are long, and I don't trust myself to post anything unfinished.
