NAYT. Same, same. She's someone whose work I love because she has a safe formula and it's one I really dig. They're really comforting, always knowing it's going to work out okay. And, hey, pretty men.

She also wrote Vanyel as explicitly gay at a time when gay heroes were nnnnnot really a thing and teen!me will always be very grateful to her for writing him.

This. Vanyel was a pretty big deal at the time.

Also his era happens to be my favorite of her books personally. Yes, she has a formula, but the formula is fun and enjoyable to me.
