I'm trans and even I don't want trans people in my source material. I don't want realistic universes where people have to go through the medical and political minefield *but it all turns out fine in the end...* or magic 'click your fingers, now you're a boy/girl' worlds that just bring out envy and annoyance.

I want to read/watch/listen about people who aren't stereotypes. The athletic quarterback who also like knitting and baking. The tiny old women who loves video games and death metal. The teenager in a gang who has a passion for classical music. Give me interesting characters, regardless of what is in their underwear.

Eh, those examples sound tryhard woke and not organic at all. You're veering into the other extreme of stereotypical writing.

AYRT: is literally trans and explains why they don't want to read about realistic trans characters and what would make them, as a trans person, happy instead

You: "B-b-but let me explain why that's actually BAD for you!"

You can't win with you types. You probably complain when characters fit an expected role because stereotypes bad, but when they don't you say this shit about tryhard woketivism. Tell us, what perfect, meticulously crafted to the .00001th unit balance of "not a stereotype" and "not too woke" is satisfactory for you? (Besides, if you don't know any real people with surprising interests or hobbies, you either know very few people or don't know them very well.)
