I bounced off of Dragonlance once I realized how much their orcs had in common with the “savage Indian” trope.

Also, the absolute worst-case scenario for fantasy races as stand-in for real races is Submicroscopic by S.P. Meeks. You’ve got the dark-skinned savages who can’t invent, only copy, and the yellow-skinned technological geniuses who lack empathy.
