Re: Microwavable meals
(Anonymous) 2021-12-04 05:56 am (UTC)(link)Green Giant microwavable meals aka Green Giant Simply Steamable. So. Good. Super easy. They have some variety. You can hopefully find it (or a knock off) at your local supermarket. I'm a big fan of the buttered brussel sprouts (pair it with egg fried rice or just white rice or a whole meal) and the vegetable pilaf. so tasty! The cheese and broccoli is also good with rice.
I'd also recommend the pot pies some brands have. i usually get the chicken pot pies. They're tasty and filling.
Naturally, these aren't ideal meals to have everyday, but they're certainly above hot pockets imo. My best recommendation is to either heat up leftovers or prepare something in advance. If you can't, these are easy substitutes. I'm also a fan of Heinz vegetarian beans (aka the no meat pork and beans) with rice. Man I love that shit lol. But also a lot of canned food can be microwaved. Usually Chef Boyardi stuff, but sometimes the Mac n cheese. Not a huge fan of that.
And of course if there's a trader Joe's near your job/you're willing to make the trip every now and then, I'd say go for it. Their orange chicken? Sesame chicken? Idk that was amazing. And most of their options are both healthy and quick. I don't live or work near a TJ, si it's always a dedicated trip to go there. But it's Al we and worth it.
