I've always thought RPF is fine as long as you draw the line and remember it's fiction. This is a problem some of the SPN RPF people struggled with, I think. I have a couple RPF ships that I enjoy, but I don't tinhat and I don't put any of my shippy stuff where I think the people might see. (If, however, they venture onto ao3, that's on THEM. That's a place made specifically for fandom).
