Excellent! I might actually check the series out, just out of curiosity.

The Valdemar books are a lot of tropey fantasy fun and I'm very attached to them, but a lot of them have at least one scene of kinda heavy whumpage, sometimes including (always framed as bad) sexual assault, so be forewarned
